Overview
Common symptoms of cystitis include pain when peeing, needing to pee more often and pain low down in your tummy. Your pee may be cloudy and dark.
Cystitis may get better by itself in a few days. Drinking plenty of water and taking painkillers can help.
Cystitis is usually caused by bacteria from poo getting into your bladder and causing an infection. It's more common in women.
Things you can do that may help prevent cystitis include staying well hydrated and going for a pee soon after having sex.
Cystitis is a common urinary tract infection (UTI) of the bladder. It may be treated with antibiotics, but they're not always needed.
