Bad breath
Overview
To avoid bad breath, it can help to brush your teeth and gums at least twice a day, clean your tongue once a day and use antibacterial mouthwash.
Causes of bad breath include eating strong-smelling or spicy foods, and problems with your teeth or gums, such as gum disease.
Bad breath (sometimes called halitosis) is very common. You can usually treat it yourself by keeping your teeth, tongue and mouth clean.
