Allergic rhinitis
Overview
Common causes of allergic rhinitis include hay fever and allergies to mould, house dust mites and animals.
You can usually treat allergic rhinitis with medicines such as antihistamines and decongestant nasal sprays. You can get these from a pharmacy.
If pharmacy medicines do not help, a GP can prescribe different types of antihistamines or nasal sprays to ease symptoms of allergic rhinitis.
Allergic rhinitis is where your nose gets irritated by something you're allergic to, such as pollen, causing sneezing and other symptoms.
