If a person is confused, they may not be able to think or speak clearly, they may not know where they are, and they may struggle to remember things.
While waiting for medical help for someone who is confused, stay with them, tell them who you are and where they are, and keep reassuring them.
Sudden confusion can be caused by many different things including a urinary tract infection (UTI), a stroke, low blood sugar and a head injury.
