Croup
Overview
Symptoms of croup include a barking cough that sounds like a seal, a hoarse voice, difficulty breathing and a high-pitched sound when breathing in.
Croup usually gets better within 48 hours. If your child has croup, keep them calm, give them plenty of fluids and check on them regularly.
Croup is a common childhood illness that causes a barking cough. It's usually mild but get medical help if you're worried.
