Bronchiolitis starts with symptoms of a cold, such as sneezing. Later symptoms include a cough, noisy breathing and breathing more quickly.

Bronchiolitis usually gets better on its own. You can give your child children's paracetamol and encourage them to drink lots of fluids.

You can help stop the spread of the viruses that cause bronchiolitis through good hygiene and keeping newborn babies away from anyone with a cold.
