There are many causes of thumb pain. You can often ease the pain yourself. But see a GP if the pain does not improve.

You can ease thumb pain by taking paracetamol, using a splint for support and reducing activities that put pressure on the thumb.

Common causes of thumb pain include a sprain, carpel tunnel syndrome, arthritis, or a broken thumb.
