If you have flat feet, the inner sides of your feet will be flat on the ground when you’re standing up. Most people do not have any other symptoms.

Treatment for flat feet is not usually needed. Wearing comfortable shoes, using insoles, and doing foot exercises may ease any pain or discomfort.

There's often no obvious cause for flat feet. They can run in families. Rarely, they can happen for other reasons, such as a foot injury.

Flat feet, or "fallen arches", are where your feet press flat on the ground. They're common and usually nothing to worry about.
