A tremor can become more noticeable with age, or when you're stressed, tired, anxious or angry. Some medicines and conditions can also cause a tremor.

If you have a tremor, a GP may examine you and ask about any other symptoms you have, any medicine you’re taking and your family's medical history.

If you have a severe tremor, you may be prescribed medicine to reduce the shaking or trembling. Rarely, brain surgery may be an option.

A tremor is when you're unable to control shaking or trembling in part of your body. Treatment may help reduce a tremor if it’s affecting your life.
