There are things you can do to ease symptoms of phlebitis, such as raising the affected area, keeping active to help blood flow, and taking ibuprofen.

Phlebitis is inflammation of a vein. An inflamed vein near the surface of the skin caused by a blood clot is known as superficial thrombophlebitis.
