Symptoms of head lice include small brown or white eggs (nits) in your hair and an itchy scalp.

The main treatment for head lice involves using a special comb. You can get medicated lotions and sprays from a pharmacy if combing does not work.

There's nothing you can do to prevent head lice, but you can help stop them spreading by regular wet combing.

Head lice are tiny insects that can attach to your hair. They're spread by head-to-head contact.
