Pelvic pain is felt in your lower tummy. The pain can vary from sharp and stabbing to dull or throbbing.
Many things can cause pelvic pain, like periods, urinary tract infections or constipation. Less often, it can be something serious like appendicitis.
Treatment for pelvic pain depends on what’s causing it. A GP may suggest antibiotics or painkillers, or refer you to a specialist for tests.
Pelvic pain is common. There are things you can do to ease the pain but get medical help if the pain is severe or does not get better.
